FC Dallas WPSL wins 2-1 over Arkansas Comets
The FC Dallas WPSL team notched its second victory of the season Sunday with a 2-1 over the Arkansas Comets.

The first goal came at the 39th minute when April Ptak broke through the Arkansas defense and drove home a ball from teammate Krissy Stoner.

Dallas headed into the locker room with a 1-0 first half lead, but would face a tougher task in the second.

Arkansas was awarded a direct kick in the 64th minute and Comets midfielder Early Villegas took advantage and knotted the score at 1-1.

FC Dallas goalkeeper Megan Ross kept her team's victory chances alive after making back-to-back stops in the 75th minute.

Dallas capitalized when Leslie Briggs beat her defender down the left side of the pitch and drove the ball to Stoner. Stoner then sent the ball to the near post and an unguarded Janette Barton, who sent the ball past the Comets goalkeeper.

Barton's goal proved to be the game-winner. The win moved Dallas to 2-0 to start the season.

FC Dallas was scheduled to play a match Saturday against the Tulsa Spirit, but it was postponed due to a field conflict. The postponement is the second of the season for the club. The team is first in the Big Sky South division with six points.

FC Dallas next takes to the pitch June 4 on the road against Houston Select. Houston is 1-2 on the season.
